We\u2019re also shipping this and future versions of Horde as an RPM, to ensure consistent installation and updates.<\/p>\n<p>Some of the new and improved features that you\u2019ll find in our installation of Horde Groupware Webmail Edition 5.1 include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A mobile interface<\/li>\n<li>A customizable web interface<\/li>\n<li>Threaded conversations<\/li>\n<li>Mail filtering<\/li>\n<li>A built-in calendar with event reminders<\/li>\n<li>An advanced task list system<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Removed Horde scripts<\/b><\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s important to know that the upgrade process will remove the following Horde 1.2 scripts and symlinks:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\/bin\/killhordeobjs<\/li>\n<li>\/bin\/real-updatehorde<\/li>\n<li>\/bin\/update-horde<\/li>\n<li>\/bin\/updatehorde<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>We encourage system administrators to prepare for the removal of these scripts by updating any cron jobs or other dependencies that could be affected during the upgrade to cPanel &amp; WHM version 11.42.<\/p>\n<p><b>Upgrading your Horde data<\/b><\/p>\n<p>If Horde 1.2 data is detected when you upgrade your server, then the MySQL database will be backed up to the \/var\/cpanel\/horde\/ directory. You can access the last five backups in this directory.<\/p>\n<p>After your existing data is safely backed up, we will update the database schema and convert your Horde tables from Latin 1 to UTF-8 encoding.<\/p>\n<p><b>Updated configuration values<\/b><\/p>\n<p>When you update, any Horde 1.2 configurations will be backed up and stored in \/var\/cpanel\/horde\/horde_1.2_config.tar.gz. Unfortunately, we can\u2019t guarantee that existing customizations of Horde won\u2019t be lost during the upgrade process. Horde 1.2 themes and customizations will <b>not<\/b> be supported in the new version.<\/p>\n<p>When you update to cPanel &amp; WHM version 11.42, the following configuration values will be changed:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><b>$conf[&#8216;sql&#8217;][&#8216;password&#8217;]<\/b> \u2014 MySQL database password<\/li>\n<li><b>$conf[&#8216;sql&#8217;][&#8216;hostspec&#8217;]<\/b> \u2014 MySQL database hostname<\/li>\n<li><b>$conf[&#8216;sql&#8217;][&#8216;database&#8217;]<\/b> \u2014 MySQL database name<\/li>\n<li><b>$conf[&#8216;auth&#8217;][&#8216;admins&#8217;]<\/b> \u2014 Username(s) of the Horde administrator(s), as found in the hordeadmins variable in the \/var\/cpanel\/cpanel.config file<\/li>\n<li><b>$conf[&#8216;spell&#8217;][&#8216;params&#8217;][&#8216;path&#8217;]<\/b> \u2014 Path to the third-party binary for the spellchecker<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Customizing Horde<\/b><\/p>\n<p>As with any of the RPMs that we ship, system administrators will be able to <a href=\"http:\/\/docs.cpanel.net\/twiki\/bin\/view\/AllDocumentation\/WHMDocs\/CustomBuildRpm\">make their own customizations<\/a> to the cPanel-provided Horde RPM.
