Now, I hand it over to David&#8230;.<\/em><\/h6>\n<hr \/>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Next week I\u2019ll be discussing \u201ccreating transparency reports that work\u201d at cPanel\u2019s 2017 <a href=\"https:\/\/conference.cpanel.net\">annual conference<\/a>. Why is this topic important to you?<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Transparency reports are customer driven:<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>your customers want to know in what circumstances you might disclose their data to governments.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Governments also want to know how you manage their requests.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Because of this, transparency reports have increasingly become something that distinguishes great companies from good companies.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Indeed, groups like the Electronic Frontier Foundation have begun to issue reports that award \u201cstars\u201d to companies based on their commitments to transparency.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2>Why Transparency reporting matters<\/h2>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">When companies publish transparency reports they demonstrate their company values, and commitment to protecting the rights of people who use their services.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>This is the case whether those reports focus only on government requests for data, or extend to other topics like intellectual property takedowns and terms of service violations. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">For cPanel, transparency is a growing part of our company culture. Since 2015 cPanel has provided employees with information about its business and their careers. These reports include metrics that my colleagues can use to understand corporate growth, employee raises, career path opportunities and company-wide position and pay.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2>Start your company&#8217;s reporting<\/h2>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">My keynote will provide you with background on how to begin to create a transparency report.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>We\u2019ll discuss how cPanel has approached both transparency and providing guidance to law enforcement about the information cPanel does, and does not, have.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>I\u2019ll also discuss why the history of transparency is important to understanding how this process works, and how we found ways to overcome impediments to transparency.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">I hope you\u2019ll join me at 9:30am in Fort Lauderdale, Florida on September 27th! <\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Quick note from benny: We have moved #cPConf 2017 to the Ritz Carlton from the W Fort Lauderdale!
