Softaculous provides hundreds of scripts to install some of the most popular hosting software in the industry on your cPanel server.&nbsp; They also provide automatic updates through their service, to help keep sites secure, and add new software to their library of scripts fairly regularly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"BlogPost:UsingSoftaculousWithcPanel-WhyUseSoftaculousWithcPanel?\">Why Use Softaculous With cPanel?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>For some users, installing software on a server with the command line can seem intimidating.&nbsp; Softaculous provides a graphical interface with trusted scripts to make installation easier.&nbsp; As a web host, with just a few clicks, you can empower your web hosting customers to manage their own software and trust that it will be kept up to date.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Including Softaculous as part of your hosting packages can enhance your services without adding significant cost. Their&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.softaculous.com\/softaculous\/pricing\">free plan includes&nbsp;59 popular scripts, and their paid plans include over 200<\/a>, making it easy for your users to install the software packages they desire most on their own cPanel &amp; WHM servers.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you have your own server that doesn&#8217;t include Softaculous, you can also install it yourself to provide quality-of-life improvements for your own server administration. Softaculous provides&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.siteground.com\/tutorials\/cpanel\/softaculous-overview\/\">step-by-step documentation&nbsp;<\/a>for installing Softaculous on the command line.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How to Install Softaculous on Your cPanel<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Installing Softaculous from scratch requires root access via SSH to your server, if it isn&#8217;t preinstalled by your hosting provider. Softaculous provides an&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.softaculous.com\/softaculous\/cpanel\">installation guide<\/a>&nbsp;with specific instructions.&nbsp;Once you have connected via SSH, execute the following commands:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>wget -N&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/files.softaculous.com\/install.sh\">http:\/\/files.softaculous.com\/install.sh<\/a><\/li><li>chmod 755 install.sh<\/li><li>.\/install.sh<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>It will look something like this when it installs:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.cpanel.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/Screen-Shot-2020-05-14-at-5.53.00-PM.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-55829\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Important note: You must have&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ioncube.com\/loaders.php\">ionCube Loaders<\/a>&nbsp;enabled via WHM in the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/docs.cpanel.net\/whm\/server-configuration\/tweak-settings\/86\/\">Tweak Settings<\/a>&nbsp;interface. Find the ionCube Loader in the backend copy of PHP to enable it.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Once the installation file has successfully downloaded and executed, you will see the installation screen, which looks something like this:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.cpanel.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/Screen-Shot-2020-05-14-at-6.31.17-PM.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-55833\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>You should now be able to access the Softaculous interface on your server.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"BlogPost:UsingSoftaculousWithcPanel-UsingSoftaculoustoInstallWordpress\">Using Softaculous to Install WordPress<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>If you log in to WHM,&nbsp;you can specify&nbsp;which&nbsp;scripts are available to your users, but you cannot install any software. You will need to log in to cPanel (not WHM) to&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/onlinesolutionz.net\/how-to-install-wordpress-via-cpanel-using-softaculus\/\">install WordPress using Softaculous<\/a>. In cPanel, Softaculous Apps Installer can be found under &#8220;software&#8221; or by searching for Softaculous.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.cpanel.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/Screen-Shot-2020-05-15-at-10.10.43-AM.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-55837\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Softaculous is very easy to use.&nbsp; It has multiple layers of settings you can customize to suit your needs, and it allows you to install hundreds of software titles with just a click and a few simple steps.
